The story goes that one day Gourmet Magazine commissioned contemporary American master David Foster Wallace to write a piece on the Maine Lobster Festival. The writer delivered, but, on reading it, the editors (let alone the readers) were dismayed to say the least -that was not quite what they had in mind in the first place! Find out why, even though they ended up running it, the article is not what you would expect to find in a magazine devoted to fine dining.
